Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP)
Antibiotic resistance is a significant issue in low- and middle-income countries with limited healthcare access, sanitation infrastructure, and public health education. The Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP) has been working to develop actionable policy proposals to address these disparities. GARP has played a critical role in advancing country-led strategies and policies to address AMR in 15 countries in Africa and Asia since 2008. The organization has worked with member countries to contextualize AMR on national scales and provide policy recommendations. The GARP model consists of a technical working group of experts from various disciplines, including academia, non-governmental organizations, faith-based organizations, and the government.
